On March 27, 2021 NLBC had a 7 cubic yard pile of mulch to move into our biggest site, the garden that surrounds the deck at Ocean Beach Park. That’s quite a daunting undertaking, but the USCGA Cadet volunteers came to our rescue!
- USCGA Cadets dug into the pile and loaded mulch into buckets, wheelbarrows, etc. in order to transport it to the garden beds.
- USCGA Cadet Hayden Carter transports a heavy load of buckets to the site so waiting cadets with rakes at the ready can spread it
- Mulch delivered, Cadets expertly spread it throughout the garden beds. They were quick, efficient and worked well as a team.
- New London Beautification Committee and Ocean Beach Park thank this wonderful crew of USCGA Cadet Volunteers. They quickly completed a project that would have taken NLBC quite a while.
